WMSRDC has been designated by the State of Michigan to serve as the Regional Clearinghouse to review applications for federal assistance, as provided under Executive Order 12372 – Intergovernmental Review of Federal Programs. Through the process, WMSRDC is given the opportunity to review proposed projects and may comment on the relationship of the projects to its own plans and projects as well as those of local agencies and governments.
SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, has been designated by the State of Michigan to serve as the Single Point of Contact to coordinate the State Clearinghouse process. In Michigan, intergovernmental review is coordinated by the 14 regional councils and state departments. As the Single Point of Contact, SEMCOG notifies state departments and the 13 other regional planning councils about applications for federal assistance that are proposed for their jurisdictions.
