WMSRDC conducted an online survey between late September and early November 2021 to document perspectives and experiences that will help the region respond to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as future economic disruptions. It is an important component of a pandemic recovery and resiliency plan (PRRP) that WMSRDC is developing for the region.
The survey, which was created and promoted in partnership with local economic development partners from the counties of Lake, Mason, Muskegon, Newaygo and Oceana, was comprised of three unique forms targeted to households, businesses, and public/nonprofit entities. Participants were free to complete any form that applied to their personal situation. WMSRDC utilized the SurveyMethods online software to design and administer the survey via links on the WMSRDC website.
The survey and PRRP efforts are funded through the US Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration to conduct short-term and long-term economic development planning and coordination to develop a disaster recovery and resiliency economic development plan for the WMSRDC Economic Development District (EDD). The PRRP will be focused on pandemic recovery and resiliency, consistent with the approved Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) maintained by WMSRDC. Upon completion, the PRRP will be incorporated into the region’s CEDS document and other required planning documents, and will be made available on this page in June 2022.
