WMSRDC, in partnership with the county economic development offices within the region, is conducting online surveys to document impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic upon businesses, public & nonprofit agencies, and households. Each survey is expected to take 5-10 minute to complete. Participants are encouraged to complete any or all of the surveys, as each survey is uniquely tailored to a unique perspective. Results of the surveys will be packaged into a report that will be available to the public on the WMSRDC website. Results will be used to inform and guide WMSRDC’s development of a Pandemic Response and Recovery Plan (PRRP) which is expected to be complete in June 2022.
The survey and Pandemic Response and Recovery Plan (PRRP) efforts are funded through the US Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration to conduct short-term and long-term economic development planning and coordination to develop a disaster recovery and resiliency economic development plan for the WMSRDC Economic Development District (EDD), which includes Lake, Mason, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana counties. The PRRP will be focused on pandemic recovery and resiliency, consistent with the approved Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) maintained by WMSRDC. The plan will be incorporated into the region’s CEDS document and other required planning documents, such as hazard mitigation plans.
