Upcoming Virtual Outreach Events Hosted by US Army Corps of Engineers RE: High Water and Shoreline Protection

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Detroit District Regulatory Office would like to invite you to our upcoming virtual outreach events. You are welcome to attend either event or both. The first event, “Special Topics: High Water – Shoreline Protection & Permitting” will focus on shoreline erosion and shoreline protection projects. The Corps Great Lakes Hydraulics & Hydrology Office will discuss current water levels in the context of water levels over the last 100 years, factors that influence water levels on the Great Lakes, and the Corps water level forecast. The Detroit District Regulatory Office and Michigan’s Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) will each provide a brief overview of their Regulatory Programs, with a focus on shoreline protection projects and permit requirements. The second event, “Shore Protection-The Complete Permit Application” will focus on the specific information needed to submit a complete permit application package, common errors, and frequently missed pieces of information.
