Oceana Rec Plan Update 2024_adopted 7.11.24
In the fall of 2022, WMSRDC began the process of assisting Oceana County with updating the county’s master plan and recreation plan. These planning documents will communicate a common vision for communities within the county and serve as “factbooks” for information about Oceana County. Both types of plan must be reviewed, and updated as needed, every five years.
The master plan is primarily an advisory document that will help guide priorities and recommendations issued by the Oceana County Planning Commission. Once the recreation plan is completed and approved by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Oceana County will become eligible to apply to the state for certain grants for recreation improvements for five years, when the plan must be updated once again.
